Love the
people
magazine. It is informative on the "real"
people stories. My problem with continuing my
subscription is that the magazine is not put into a
protective clear plastic sleeve. I seem to have a
problem receiving the magazine in the same week that is
published when an article of national interest is in it.
Either the people at the post office want to read it
first (evident by the condition it is in) which delays
it getting to me, or it never gets to my mailbox at all.
The problem would be solved, if the publishers would
invest in the protective bags like other magazines do. |

Well this was a present for my Wife, and she loves it.
Gets all excited the day it comes. I flip through it and
enjoy what I see, keeps me well informed in the world of
entertainment and what happens to be the big topic in
the news. Great weekly magazine for the money. |

This is a great magazine, but I wish it wouldn't be
printed and delivered EVERY WEEK. Sometimes, it's 3
weeks until I can catch up. The articles are good, but
it's the same stuff you hear on Entertainment Tonight.
This would be better if it were printed bi-weekly.... |

I've been reading People
magazine
off and on for a couple of
decades. Whereas Entertainment Tonight smarmily
befriends the rich and famous, People Magazine does cast
a wary eye on the shenanigans of the who's who of the
entertainment world. This is NOT just a commercial for
the stars' projects although some of them think it is. I
remember reading one star actually counted the number of
her People covers. If I want a quick fix of what's going
on in the entertainment world, People
magazine
is best place to
visit. |

Someone gave this to me as a gift a while back... and as
I was thanking them I have to admit I was scratching my
head and asking myself "why?" Well, the answer came when
I started to get the magazine... In an age when
magazines routinely come less and less frequently (down
from monthly to 10 times a year or even 6 times a year)
it was really great to just get so darn many magazines
frankly! Besides the sheer number of issues they are
just plain fun and timely.. Yes, they do human interest
stories and more *deep* stories from time to time... but
mostly its just a fast paced easy to read escape of
what's happening ...right now..this week. The people and
stories they cover are generally the celebs or people
with *current* public interest who are making the news
at that time and that will click with most people. The
stories don’t go deep into any particular story but
there is a reasonable amount of info without being
especially unsavoury (ie the stories do not seem overly
intrusive to the people they are about, nor do the
pictures of them)
The person who got me this could have
got me something esle I suppose..the fruit of the month
club, time magazine, new York magazine... a plant... but
this was just so much more fun. every time it comes! |
